Flow Templates only provide a general description of an Integration Flow. A Flow Instance is generated from a Flow Template through the activation by a User or End-User. It is the fully functional description of an Integration Flow, including credentials, variables, and customizations.
It is also highly recommended to create instances to test your flow templates before publishing them on the Integration Center. In any case, a private instance can only be created via the FlowMate interface and is only visible to you.
In order to create a private instance, go to My Templates and click on the show details button when you hover over a template in the list to get to the template details page. Now click on Create private instance.

This will prompt the activation process for with you will need to provide the necessary credentials to make sure the components have sufficient access to the applications you would like to connect. At the end of the process the instance is created and the steps of the flow are being executed in the background.
On the Template Details page you will also notice that you now see an overview of existing instances of that template. This includes your private instance as well as instances created by your users.
The main goal for FlowMate is to bring Integrations to your customers, by either using the Integration Center or having a custom implementation into your application's frontend.
Your customer will browse through the available integration and pick a suitable flow template. By clicking the activate toggle, ******they will prompt the activation process and be asked to provide the necessary credentials or additional parameters for customization.
